Scuba Buoyancy Compensating Device permits you to adjust your buoyancy by adding or releasing air from a bladder, allowing you to float, hover, or descend gradually at will. Several BCD design styles and types have already evolved. But the most recent primary styles are the BCD jacket and the Wings/Harness. It doesn’t matter which style of buoyancy compensator device you choose, as long as you purchase a good one.

Fit and comfort is the first essential feature to look out for. You will certainly be distracted from your scuba experience wearing uncomfortable BCD. Some major features to consider when buying a BCD are lift capacity, hoses and valves, and weight integration. Lift capacity is used mainly for holding enough air, giving you and your equipment enough buoyancy to float. For hoses and valves, be sure that it has a low pressure inflation system to slowly fill your BCD with air directly from your tank. A large diameter inflation or deflation hose is important so air can be easily released. Also, every Scuba BCD must have an Overpressure valve that lets air out from the BCD so it won’t rupture the bladder if accidentally overinflated. And lastly, divers that prefer to wear less scuba gear uses weight integration that comes with integrated weights.

Other desirable features to look for in your scuba BCD are utility pockets, cummerbund waistband, quick dump, whistle, hose retainers, and D-rings, to provide convenient and remarkable diving experience. If one follows this information then their is no way they can go wrong.

There is nothing like diving at the barrier reef if you are looking for the perfect place to scuba dive. The experience of this dive is more than just scuba diving it is what you will be seeing while you are diving at the barrier reef. You will see the most beautiful, colorful, and natural fish and coral all around you. There is not a spot in these open waters where you will not be impressed.

The barrier reef is located in Australia. The original name is the Great Barrier Reef. However, many call this Barrier reef. It is the world’s largest reef system, with over nine-hundred islands. The reef found in the Coral Sea off the coast of Queensland in northeast Australia.

Nature did more than just provide a showcase of beauty as there is dazzling quiet life that is unique in itself. The barrier reef provides a diving experience that you do not want to miss. The fish you will swim with and the flora, will take your breath away, as you may never see such beauty until you take your dive into the barrier reef.

The coral barrier reefs attract the saltwater fish for not only food but also their protection. Diving at the barrier reef is like living in an ecosystem created by nature itself. If you can only experience this dive once, you will have an adventure that you will forever remember. Sharing your adventure with friends and family is possible not just by conversation but the pictures you can take with the waterproof cameras. Imagine the pictures of you by the colorful reefs, and with the fish swirling around you.

While attempting to scuba dive you should always be prepared for the worst. With preparation you have a higher chance of preventing scuba diving accidents. Faulty equipment creates life or death situations during deep scuba diving. Always be sure to check your equipment, maintain it, and keep it in a good condition.

Always be sure to read about your equipment after purchase. Most scuba diving equipment comes with manuals and recommendations on how to keep it in mint condition. After researching and reading these manuals you have a higher chance of preventing accidents that may occur due to faulty equipment that has not been cared for in the right manner. Equipment management is a great form of scuba accident prevention.

Inexperienced and untrained divers must first learn how to properly dive in order to prevent accidents. By diving without experience you are asking for trouble. Its best to get training so you can not only save your own life during emergency situations but also save the lies of others. Their are two scuba training programs that are the most highly praised internationally. These schools are PPADI and NUI. These school offer classes for beginners, advanced divers and experts. By getting a scuba certification and educating yourself on the correct ways of diving, you open up a whole new world of underwater life while being safe. Getting an education and a scuba certification is a great method of scuba accident prevention and should be completed by everyone who wants to dive safely.

A person who is diving is most likely going to be looking into renting or buying a scuba tank. The proper name to use when referring to these items is diving tank. Often times these tanks are even referred to as diving cylinders. It is important to understand how a scuba tank actually works before going diving. Using a diving regulator valve gas is passed to the scuba diver. This gas is sent to the diver on what is known as an on-demand basis.

This means the tank sends gas to the scuba diver when they need it and that is it. The gas is actually highly pressurized and it is sent to the diver as breathing air. The average scuba tank when completely filled up can last for about a week. Before purchasing a diving tank it is important to consider a few facts. Scuba tanks are manufactured using either steel or aluminum. Each type of metal has its own benefits for diving. Both aluminum and steel scuba tanks must be taken care of or else they will suffer from corrosion.

Aluminum tanks are generally lighter than steel tanks and this gives them more buoyancy. Steel tanks are generally stronger than aluminum tanks but cost more. Deciding whether or not to get high pressure or low pressure tanks is important as well. Tanks with lower pressure are generally better for technical divers. A tank that is high pressure is going to be a lot more compact. Seeking assistance from a professional is a good way to determine exactly what kind of tank is best for each individual situation.

Scuba divers are underneath the water. Scuba diving can be a hobby or a professional job. You really have to enjoy being underneath the water to scuba dive. You will be able to see beautiful surroundings, like plants, rocks and fish. A scuba dive can be a great vacation for the family. There are boat dives that are available around the shore.

Before scuba diving you must know how to swim. You will need to be a very strong swimmer that’s not afraid of things around you in the water. There are available swimming classes for young and old. And also classes for scuba diving, where you will receive a certificate after finishing the class and passing. Try watching a few videos on what scuba diving is all about. There are a lot of educational videos on what you will see under the water. Learn the safety’s of scuba diving and the risk that may occur like sharks in the water.

Scuba diving requires a lot of equipment. You will first need a full body wetsuit, a mask, control device, fins, and a diving watch. If you don’t have some of these items, they are available to rent out at a diving store. All first time divers should ask other divers where’s the best dive to take. Test equipment before diving along the side where there is land. When scuba diving you must be able to breathe. You will not be able to hold your breath for a long time under the water.

Living by, or visiting the ocean it’s easy to discover Scuba Diving Centers. People sign up for their open water diving course when availability for classes open. Most equipment provided while training is available. This is great for the novice diver that is on a budget. Completing the written examination and approval, a certificate from PADI is sent to the new scuba diver.
Many people never look beyond enjoying using this certificate for recreation and vacations.

There are the choice few that will look beyond their open water certification and look for a career.

The first career to come to mind would be diving instructor. There are specific classes for scuba instructors. Special classes including first response and CPR classes will need to be passed.

The next career comes to mind theme parks that have any sort ocean animal or rescue animals. Scuba diving used for this profession cleaning the several thousand gallon tanks, as well as feeding and interacting with ocean sea life.

Another career would be assisting veterinarians in different oceanic fields or lakes or even springs. Many wildlife and sea life gets wounded. Bringing the animals to surface ensuring its safety and health can be a rewarding experience.

The course that most do not think of is underwater welding. Helping build a bridge from the below sea level up, vessel maintenance, and other commercial diving can be a lifetime career to pursue with the enjoyment of scuba diving.

Pursue your dream career today while enjoying scuba diving.

Scuba is an acronym for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. Scuba diving is an underwater sport, which is mostly used to explore the marine world, but it is not something that you can just dive into. You need to get the proper training before you do any scuba diving.

Scuba diving can be very dangerous. Without the proper instructions, it can lead to fatal injuries or even death. In order to avoid catastrophes, there is much to learn and many rules that you must follow such as how to plan your dives, how deep to go, how certain pressures affect the body, and how to react in cases of emergency. You must also be able to swim or tread water.

When you have learned all of the important steps in scuba diving, and your instructor thinks that you are ready for a dive, he will fit you in your equipment. Proper fitting is extremely important because poor fitting can lead to danger and damage of equipment, which is quite expensive to replace.

In order to rent or purchase any scuba diving equipment, you must be a certified diver, and you must have a C card. A C card is a certification card, which shows the shop owner that you have had the proper training and you know what you are doing. If you don’t have a C card and they rent you diving equipment, they may lose their shop if something happens to you.

It is very important that we follow all of the rules when we go to do any scuba diving. This is not only for our safety; the safety of those diving with us can depend on how much we know.

There are not too many people who haven’t, at one time or another, thought what it might be like to discover a sunken Spanish galleon loaded with pieces of eight and gold doubloons. Although many of the Spanish shipwrecks have been discovered and salvaged, the amount of treasure that remains underwater is mind-boggling and the search goes on.

In ancient times, diving bells were used to recover sunken treasure from shallow water wrecks; with the ‘divers’ working one breath at a time. With the advent of scuba, the underwater world was opened up to the masses and allowed anyone with the desire and persistence to search for the underwater bounty.

On of the richest finds in modern times was made by Mel Fisher and his company, Treasure Salvors Inc. off the coast of Florida in 1985. Old Mel was the poster boy for ‘hang’n in there’ as it took 16 years of searching to discover the resting place of the Spanish galleon, Nuestra Senora de Atocha. Fisher recovered the $450 million dollar mother load of gold, silver and emeralds from the 1622 wreck.

This type of treasure hunting is not for the weak of heart or the under funded as it can take years of monotonous research of Spanish archives and millions of dollars without any guarantee of success. With the use of underwater metal detectors, any diver can search for their own treasures and there are many finds of coins and artifacts off beaches and in lake and rivers.

Preparing To Scuba Dive With Sharks

If you really want to scuba dive with sharks, the first thing you should know is that you probably won’t have much luck. Sharks are very anti-social animals, but if you are feeling adventurous than the following tips can help keep you safe.

Dive with an expert. Not a scuba diving expert, but a diver that can guarantee your safety. You might pay more for than with your local shark diving expert, but its well worth it. Furthermore, even if you are diving with an expert, be prepared. No one can absolutely guarantee your safety.

Even with an expert, you want to make sure you dive with a group and during the daytime. Also, its a good idea to plan your dive well before you hit the water. Pay attention to things such as currents, depths and air consumption.

.

When you have arranged your scuba diving adventure, you are now ready to dive. Keep in mind, that you must enter the water and descend quickly. Be alert at all times, don’t just splash around in the water, and pay attention to the shark’s behavior. Furthermore, don’t be flashy. While sharks are timid creatures, if you approach one, keep your hands still at all times. The most important thing about diving with sharks is to relax and have fun, while being alert. Even accidental injury can occur for the most experiences divers. It goes without saying that, in case of injury, no matter how minor, the dive must end immediately. There is always the next morning.
